Appointed Boards & Commissions

Appointed boards and commissions offer residents an opportunity to take part in the affairs of their community, shape and influence public policy, and contribute their time and talents to preserve the high quality of life in the county. Serving as a volunteer on a board or commission can be a very rewarding experience. Members help support, guide and oversee the county's agencies and departments.

Johnson County has more than 30 boards, commissions and task forces that reflect the varied interests of the community. State law requires the county to create several of these boards and commissions. The Board of County Commissioners creates others.
